Terms & conditions

Booking with Saga Lux

Day journeys

Booking. Book at least 24 hours before departure. Journeys that include an activity or a meal (such as Silfra snorkelling, a glacier walk or dinner) must be booked at least 48 hours ahead.

Availability. Included activities and restaurants are reserved with our partners after you book. In the rare case there is no space, we offer you another time or a full refund.

Group size. Prices are per vehicle for up to 4 guests. Groups of 5–7 travel in a Mercedes-Benz V-Class (ISK 50,000 extra) and groups of 8–14 in a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter (ISK 80,000 extra). Where an activity or meal is included, each guest beyond 4 is charged per person.

Cancellation. Cancel up to 24 hours before departure for a full refund. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before departure are charged the full price.

Payment. Pay securely online with Mastercard, Visa or American Express, with no card fees. For other payment options, contact us.

Multi-day and self-drive journeys

Deposit. A 50% deposit confirms your journey once you have approved your proposal.

Balance and cancellation. The due date for the balance and the cancellation terms are set out in your proposal before you pay anything.

On the day

Pick-up. From Keflavík Airport or your Reykjavík hotel. Please be ready in front of your location at the agreed time.

Return times. Based on normal road and weather conditions. Weather and road conditions can cause delays, and the route may be adjusted for safety.

Clothing. Icelandic weather changes quickly. Wear good shoes and outdoor clothing suited to the season.

Language. Journeys are guided in English.

Included and excluded

Admission to sites, museums and exhibitions is included unless the journey description says otherwise. Meals and refreshments are not included unless stated.

Privacy and cookies

Your details. We use the details you give us only to arrange and run your journey, and share them only with the partners needed for it (for example a hotel, an activity provider or our payment provider, Teya).

Cookies. With your consent we use Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies to understand how the site is used and to measure our advertising. Without consent, no analytics or advertising cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time under “Cookie settings” at the bottom of the page.

Tell us the group, the dates and the mood. We come back with a plan and one price, and look after everything on the ground.

  • Private vehicles and driver-guides. Executive SUVs, Mercedes-Benz V-Class and Sprinter for up to 14 guests. Larger groups travel by private coach, with our guides on board.
  • Hotels. Boutique hotels and lodges across Iceland, booked and coordinated for the whole group.
  • Activities. Snowmobiling on a glacier, helicopter flights, ice caves, private yachts, horse riding and more.
  • Dinners and evenings. Private dinners, tables reserved at the best restaurants, and a host for a night out in Reykjavík.
  • Arrivals. Meet and greet at Keflavík Airport and transfers for every flight in the group.
  • One planner. A single contact from the first message until everyone is home.

Our story

Twelve years on Iceland’s roads.

Bjarni Lúðvíksson, founder of Saga Lux

Saga Lux was founded by Bjarni Lúðvíksson, who grew up on the Reykjanes peninsula and has guided guests across Iceland for twelve years.

Over those years, more and more guests asked for something private: their own vehicle, their own pace, and one team to plan the whole trip. Today our travel planners and professional driver-guides look after couples, families, friends and corporate groups, from a single day to two weeks around the island.

We work with Iceland’s best hotels, helicopter and boat operators, chefs and guides, so whatever you have in mind, one message to us is enough.
